ALBENIA WEST

Mrs. Albenia “Bena” West. (4/9/1937 – 3/13/2012) Bena was born in Columbia County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Will and Mrs. Hattie (Williams) Merritt.

She was the widow of John Henry West, Jr. who predeceased  her in 2005. A daughter, Belinda Ann Rucker, also preceded her in death.

She came to know Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Enon Baptist Church of Evans, Georgia.

She worked as a Mailroom Supervisor for University Hospital, retiring after more than twenty-five years of service. After retirement, she became an even more dedicated caregiver to her late husband and grandmother.

Bena loved to cook. Anytime, day or night, you could find her cooking or baking desserts for family and friends. Her generous spirit was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
